Pictures from the bayou....

I shot most of the pics while in the truck on the drive out there, since most of my time there was spent drinking and gambling, there are not many of the house or the people or any of the things most people would find photogenic. I'm a medic, not a photographer.

On I-10, 25 miles east of Tallahassee, driving through the tropical storm that Tuesday afternoon.

Ford F-650. I stopped bitching about my gas mileage after I saw this.

Mississippi just west of Biloxi. Maybe it's cheaper to drive?

Lafayette bridge over the Mississippi River.

171 in Louisiana, north of Lake Charles

The trip was a blast. Lots of good and drink. Big party on Friday night. I got really drunk really quick and had to hide in the guest room for awhile till I was ok. Went to the casino on Saturday afternoon, learned four card poker won five hundred and sixty. Good trip all around.

I want to write something about school and being done without the evac ride alongs. But nothing is comming to mind. It really chilly in this room and I've got stained "right here waiting" playing on media player. I'm thinking about getting some take out but cant think of anything worth the drive to town. hhmmm. Getting ready for the trip to Louisiana next week. That's going to be a blast. Other than that I've kinda mellowed since the last ride along. It's strange to have all this free time now. Well not exactly free, but more than before.

I heard from jenn a couple weeks ago, she's still in school for the PA program and taking 16 credits during summer, moron!!! hehehe hey guess she likes the abuse.
I have know idea what tony's doing except he's been in Tampa with his girlfriend since gradnight. Cant say I blame him, the idea of getting as far away from everyone know here is appealing most of the time.

Scott came down the other night and had some Guinness and food at the new Irish bar in town. He couldn't do the Louisiana trip due to work..Oh well. He ordered a plate of "scotch eggs". For those of you who don't know, a scotch egg is a hard boiled egg wrapped in bacon, breaded and deep fried. It's served with a dish of a something like tarder sause but without the tarder and horseraddish. I watched as he ate these things, I started having chest pain just looking at them....funny that I most likely would have enjoyed them before pm school. now I just see another hour's work for a cariologist during the inevitable coranary artery by-pass graph. Ignorence is bliss.

We left there a went to art's place back in town. Nice to sit and smoke and have a beer without alot of other people around..or any people really, I think there were three in the bar and the was fine. Had a few coors and left. good times

well I'm done for now. later

Prison Tales- the writtings of a feline POW

Day 383 of my captivity. My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre
little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am
forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope
of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from clawing the furniture and
urinating on the bath mat.Tomorrow I may eat another house plant

Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded - must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on
their favorite chair - must try this on their bed, or swallow enough
thread from my captors mending basket to produce a trailing piece of fecal
matter.

I decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt
to make them aware of the horror that I am capable of, and to try to strike
fear in their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good
little cat I was. Hmm, not working according to plan... Later, there
was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary
throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the
food.

More importantly, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers
of inducing "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my
advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. My
proof is that the dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to
return. He is obviously a half-wit. When I recently was able to view the dog's journal, my suspicisions were confirmed. It read as follows...

7 am - Oh boy! A walk! My favorite!
8 am - Oh boy! Dog food! My favorite!
9 am - Oh boy! The kids! My favorite!
Noon - Oh boy! The yard! My favorite!
2 pm - Oh boy! A car ride! My favorite!
3 pm - Oh boy! The kids! My favorite!
4 pm - Oh boy! Playing ball! My favorite!
6 pm - Oh boy! Welcome home Mom! My favorite!
7 pm - Oh boy! Welcome home Dad! My favorite!
8 pm - Oh boy! Dog food! My favorite!
9 pm - Oh boy! Tummy rubs on the couch! My favorite!
11 pm - Oh boy! Sleeping in my people's bed! My favorite!

The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant, as he speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. Again I will bid my time, the winter of their discontent is upon them, and soon.... Victory shall be mine!

good times

I'm alomst done with my rides, should be done this week and hope to complete the rest of the clinicals this comming week. It is good times for awhile after this week. Heading back out to louisiana on the 15 for the weekend and then to orlando on the 22 of july for two days and there will be a quick trip to tampa in the future as well. These are all recon mission's to look at prospective ems companies and the surrounding areas. Hope to start dive school soon also. I'll really glad that I did all my rides at once because it gave me an oppertunity to work on each part of my assesment and improve with each call. With working so many shifts so close together it was easy to change and adapt my skills as they grew, instead of having to remember the whole thing over again as spacing them out might have caused. When I'm done and all the paperwork is turned in, I'm going to have a cab drop me off as the bar with a coulpe hundred buck and I'm not going home till I cant see straight, walk straight or talk straight. If i'm lucky i'll pass out in the gutter with tequlia of my shirt and a party hat on my head....if i'm lucky. till then i'm here, sitting in the cad of the ambulance. cant sleep cant drink, very frugal life here on the ambulance, the ammish would love it. gotta to go and smoke, thats always helps.
