It's funny the difference between knowing and doing. The difference between understanding the information and putting it into practice. There is always a certain amount of fear involved in learning new skills, wondering what you don't know and whether you'll be able to put it all together when the pressure is on. The problem is that that fear can stop you from trying or worse cloud your judgment at the wrong moment. I found long ago that that fear is a wall, a mental barrier that can, if allowed, keep you from being free. Sometimes this wall will disappear on its own, other times through training and study the wall fades away. But there are times when this wall requires extreme pressure to fall. A make or break situation. It is the moment that all of the training and study, from school, work, and life all combine in one focused event, one that, when its over... You find your self looking back, at the hole you put in the wall as you burst through it. You stand in the dust of the destruction of old boundaries and feel the calmness wash over you. Everything has changed and nothing has changed, just your perception of it. I have experienced this sensation again in my life recently. There are few better feelings in the world than the feeling of being completely ready for whatever lies ahead.
