It's been awhile since I paid any attention to this. I've been up to my eyeballs in cardiology. To my friends outside medic school, I'm SOOO sorry, I haven't been blowing you off I swear.. I'll try to make it up to you.
Things have been so fucking crazy in my life sine I started this...What the fuck was I thinking.. lol...hhhmmmm It will all be better after cardiology. After this everything will be better.
It's not just the classes and the studying and the rides and the O.R. AND DETOX AND THE FIRE AND THE HOSPITAL AND THE MEDICAL EXAMINER......along with all that have been taking up all my time. The rest is spent with these my new " clique" or posse as it were. I'm going nuts keeping up with these people, It's cool and I'm not bitching, but it's a lot more human interaction than normal. I'm used to being a lone wolf and now there are others around.
Scotty is the guy I sit next to in class. He is this really funny Irish guy that can drink Guinness and insult the bartender's whole family at the same time. He gets people by walking up to the "LINE" of human desecentcy and leaping from the edge.
Most people think he's certifiable, cause he'll say anything, But I know that deep down inside hides an wonderful human being.....And beneath that hides a homicidal maniac biding his time.
Tony is the guy who sits behind me. Tony is one of those guys that appears so trustworthy, so nice and normal, that even while he was fucking your girl in front of you, you would start making up reasons as to why it's her fault. Tony is also the most laid back overachiver I've ever seen. Tony has a sweetheart of a girl friend who lives in tampa, The reason I say this is after a full day of shooting and dinner and fishing with everyone, she leaves me a "thank you" voicemail.
That's never happened before. I'll love courteous people. Make me think humanity might survive after all. Then I go buy more ammo.
Jen is the chick that sits in front of me. She has aspirations of becoming a doctor. It seems that this field work thing is a little to warm and fuzzy for her and the real blood and guts of EMS is in ER physician. She is from Miami and is still pissed the Daytona doesn't have any good food. She has taking an interest in shooting and riding motorcycles, and just recently bought a 94 600cc CBR. Scott and I have been teaching her the ropes and she is ripping her way around florida. We just recently rode to gainsville to visit my cousin.
I think I've lucked out with the people that I sit near and have become friends with, they are some of the smartest in the class and that gives me drive to keep working hard. The class has divided up into several regular groups, and even though most everyone gets along, most also tend to keep to there own groups. There are a few people that drive others nuts, but shit happends.
Tomorrow I have a clinical at the medical examiers office. Then a drug study group, then class, then cardiology study group, then sleep, the cardiology test....it's going to be a long day. Things are looking good from here for now.
let the good times roll...
